Lawal returns, vows to fire MFM back to the top (2)

MFM FC welcomed the return of striker Lawal Abayomi who was been out of the side since the start of the season in their 0-0 encounter with Lobi Stars at the Soccer Temple.

Lawal was introduced in the second half of play for his first start of the season and was lively while on, putting a dangerous ball into the box that was missed by the MFM frontline and subsequently getting hacked down in a false offside call.

Lawal while talking to tribalsports.net about his team and their chances to make the top three in group A and qualify for the Super Six pointed out that MFM has the character and the quality to go all the way and retain a spot in the top three.

“MFM FC has the players and the character to go all the way and seal a place in the top three in the group. I just got my first game and I am thrilled for the opportunity to play again for this great team and will give my all for my team whenever I am called upon and I will try to help my team win games”

The diminutive frontman was a revelation last season for the Olukoya boys, adding bite to their attack in their continental engagements and in their league games. HE will hope for more playing time as his team continues their charge to reclaim the top spot they lost to Enugu Rangers  and return to the consciousness of the the Head Coach of the national Under 20 team ahead their international engagements.
