NPFL 19: Mfon Udohless Akwa leave it late to defeat Gombe United in Uyo

Akwa United of Uyo left it late in their match day 14 Nigerian Professional Football League clash with Gombe United as they had to wait till the 74th minute for the game’s first goal courtesy courtesy an Olisemah penalty.

The Ladan Bosso tutored boys from Gombe were well drilled defensively and looked to leave Uyo with a point as they set up to frustrate Akwa United attacks from the go. Akwa were without their top striker Mfon Udoh who is sidelined with an injury and struggled to break down a stubborn Gombe side, with keeper Daniel Emmanuel particularly excellent to deny the Akwa strikers.

The first goal eventually came from the penalty spot when Olisemah converted from the spot in the 74th minute to put his side into the lead.  Wisdom Fernando will make it two in the dying minutes of the game to add gloss to the scoreline.
