NPFL 19: Enyimba fire blanks at home against Benin Arsenals. (2)

The peoples elephants failed to get going at home against lowly rated Bendel Insurance of Benin in their Match day 14 Nigerian Professional Football League game.

The game which was a reverse fixture of their earlier meeting in the season underwhelmed as it ended in a stalemate with both sides struggling to create clear goal scoring opportunities. Goal Keeper for the Benin Arsenals Anas Obasogie was in fine form for his side as he made countless saves to preserve a point for his side.

Bendel Insuurance will however take pleasure in this result as it ensures the spoils are shared between both sides over the course of the season.

Enyimba International will however feel hard done by the result as they viewed the game as one of their two must win home games if they are to topple MFM FC at the top of the Group A table. MFM FC lost by a lone goal away to Kwara United and Enyimba’s draw cuts the lead at the top to two points, a lead that would have disappeared if they won today. Consequently Enyimba relinquishes second spot to resurgent Enugu Rangers who are level on points with Enyimba on 21 points but with a healthier goal difference.
