NPFL19: The standard of officiating has improved in the NPFL: AUTA

It's the Match Day 10 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) as Nasarawa United host Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu at the Lafia City stadium.

Philip Auta who was formerly on the books of the Solid miners as Nasarawa United are widely known will be expected to lead his side if they intend to leave with something tangible.

Speaking exclusively with tribalsports the former Enyimba winger expects the duel to be tough but believes his side has want it takes to pick at least a point from the fixture.

"Well, the standard of officiating has vastly improved, now this is a league where if you play well you can pick point(s) anywhere irrespective of who you face, it's a good thing that the referees have raised their standards and I believe this will help in improving league and also make our teams more formidable on the continent, he stated".

On Coach Ngozi Elechi, the soft spoken player revealed that the players will play for the manager so as to make sure they get a moral boosting results on MD 10.

"It was quite unfortunate for the events that took place in the last couple of days as our Coach, Elechi Ngozi lost his Mom then had an accident on his way to lafia, it's a testimony on its own that no one died in the car crash and I am sure he will come out stronger from this, I believe".

On the match,

"We are really prepared to face Nasarawa United, the good people of Yobe have been very supportive despite our not too impressive position on the log, they deserve to be happy and we are in Lafia for real business and we will stop at nothing to put smiles on their faces by defeating Nasarawa United at their fortress, he concluded".
