First away win, a morale booster for MFM FC

MFM FC of Lagos on Wednesday recorded her first away win of the season, defending Remo Stars of Sagamu in a South Western derby played in Oshogbo the adopted home of the Sky Blues.

Head coach of the team Fidelis Ilechukwu has stated that it has been a long time coming for the team who recently lost narrowly to Rivers United in Portharcourt believing that an away win is what have been missing in the team whose performance has continued to grow in every game.

He said; “We are happy because we have been looking for an away win since the start of the season. We came close against Rivers United but we were unlucky to have conceded an own goal but for now we thank God that we have finally gotten that.

I think Remo Stars played better but they did not get enough scoring opportunities, we got about two chances and scored but I must note that our defenders did well to keep us in the game till the end of the match despite the continuous fire we received from Remo”

MFM’s top goal scorer in the 2018/2019 league season Kabiru Adeniji scored the game’s only goal in the 13th minute.
