Female Football: Dalung promises to address the plight of women football

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung has promised to look into the sorry state of Women football in Nigeria.

The Minister made this known while responding to questions from some journalists in a popular WhatsApp group, Nigerian Sports Mouthpiece (NSM) on Friday evening.

Barrister Dalung assured followers of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) that the situation with the league will soon change while seeking for the advice of some journalists on the best way to tackle issues besetting the female game in Nigeria.

"To be honest with you, my passion for the women league is much and we will definitely do something about the state of the league.

Barrister Dalung equally promised to look into the move by the Nigeria Football Federation to stop the payment of match bonuses to underage National Football teams.

You'll recall that the Amaju Pinnick led administration have since stopped these payments but it was reinstated back when Chris Giwa took over for some weeks with the backing of the Sports Minister. Dalung said their plight and his love for the age grade teams led him to assist them with financial aid out of his widows might.

Dalung further assured that the ministry under his leadership will concentrate on the underaged teams as they represent the future of football in Nigeria.
