NPFL 19: Young MFM side brush aside Kwara United

Mountain of Fire and Ministries FC put aside their opening day heartbreak at Aba to record their first win of the season at home to Kwara United.

The game was the first played at the soccer temple in seven months plus and had fans bustling with excitement. The visitors took the early initiative, calling Folarin in goal for MFM into action  on numerous occasions in the first period and needing defensive master piece and a bit of luck to go in level at the break.

MFM took the lead just after the restart when mother luck smiled at them, with Kwara conceding through an own goal by Segun Alebiosu in the 49th minute. This went from bad to worse for the harmony boys as substitute Adeniji Kabir got on the end of a superb cross by Tunde Akeem to nod home the second goal of the game to make the points safe.

MFM FC features one of the youngest teams in the Nigerian topflight and will be hoping for more of the same to stay afloat in the division.
