Samuel Kalu’s stunning goal fires Bordeaux to French Cup semis.

Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu’s superb strike in the 70th minute was enough as Bordeaux beat Le Havre 1 – 0 in the quarter final phase of the French Coupe de la ligue on Wednesday.

Kalu wiggled past his marker to slot in a powerful shot into the back of the net after receiving a pass from substitute Jimmy Briand. Kalu who was given a place in the starting lineup was shown a yellow card in the 45th minute of the encounter after a foul on Zinedine Ferhat.

With the win, Bordeaux have joined Monaco, Strasbourg, Guingamp and Bordeaux in the semi final of the French League Cup after giants Lyon and PSG were eliminated in the quarter finals.

Bourdeaux will know their semi final opponent when the draw gets conducted later tonight.
