Salah to the rescue as Red’s return to winning ways

Liverpool needed a Mohammed Salah penalty in the 50th minute to sneak past Brighton Hove Albion in what was a keenly contested encounter.

Liverpool came into this game on the back of two defeats to Manchester City in the league and to Wolves in the league cup. The Seagulls proved worthy opponents for Liverpool who could not muster a shot on target in the first period.

This victory returns Liverpool to winning ways and increases the gap between them and closest rivals Manchester City to seven points.
