TRANSFER: West Brom completes Semi Ajayi signing

 

Sky Bet Championship side West Brom Albion have completed the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Semi Ajayi for an undisclosed fee, reports tribalsports.net

Ajayi who made 98 appearances for Rotherham United with 12 goals since he joined in 2017 from Cardiff City became the third recruit of the summer window after he agreed a four-year contract with the Baggies.

The 25 year-old player became one of Albion's targets last when gave a good account of himself in both games against West Brom, a campaign which saw him achieve his best goals tally with eight in all competitions.


The 6ft 5inch player who can play either in defense or as defensive midfielder has been given the number 6 shirt for the forthcoming Sky Bet Championship campaign.

The Nigerian international disclosed in an interview with his new team official website www.wba.co.uk that joining the Baggies is a great opportunity for me and vowed to play his part in helping the team to gain promotion to the English Premier League.


“It’s a great opportunity for me,” he said. “I want to play at the highest level and I have joined a club with the ambition to get there.

“I want to play my part in helping the team get promoted because that is definitely the target.”
